Have you ever wanted to go out for drinks with your friends but decided against it because you didn’t want to spend $7 on a well drink? If you answered yes then I’m with you there. Going out is great but not when it exhausts all of your spending money.
The obvious solution is going to Happy Hours. So, I decided to seek out the best Happy Hour deals in Colorado Springs as well as the best ways to find them.
Do you like retro arcade games and cheap drinks? If so, go to Supernova, located downtown at 111 E. Boulder Street. Supernova brands itself as a ‘barcade’, which is exactly what it sounds like. If you go Monday-Friday between 3pm and 6 pm you can get $3 wells, wines, drafts, and mini nachos. They also have $1 corndogs and pints of cider during Happy Hour. The website doesn’t seem to advertise the corndogs and cider as much, but I called to confirm so you’re good to go.
If you like going to Cowboys, located at 25 N. Tejon Street, make sure to drop by their Happy Hours on Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday from 4pm-7pm and Friday or Saturday from 4pm-8pm. Their specials include $2 domestic bottled beers and two-for-one on drafts and mixed drinks.
Trinity Brewing Company (featured in BrewHaha Block 6) has Happy Hour specials Monday-Wednesday from 4:30pm-5:30pm. On Thursday, Happy Hour is extended from 2pm-6pm. During Trinity Happy Hour you get all house beers for $2. Considering some of their beers are $4, it’s quite a good deal to get one of their top-of-the-line craft beers for just $2 on special.
Jose Muldoon’s is another downtown option for Happy Hour specials, conveniently located at 222 N Tejon Street. Their Happy Hours run Monday-Saturday 4pm-7pm and Thursday-Saturday 11pm-2am. During these hours you can get $3 house wines, margaritas, well drinks, and Mexican and domestic draft beer. Additionally they have $2 margaritas on Thursdays. To top this off you can add a Coronita (7 oz. miniature Corona) to your margarita for just a dollar.
The places reviewed above are only a few of the many deals you can find with some research and a few simple tools. I would also recommend the iPhone app called “Happy Hour Finder.” The app uses your location to find Happy Hour specials on both food and drink nearby. If you’re an Android user, there is an app called “Happy Hours,” which is comparable to the iPhone app with the exception that it focuses more on drinks than food.
Remember to be safe and never spend too much on drinks.
