Clowns used to be seen as purveyors of joy and happiness. Now, they suggest something more sinister. For much of the summer, it seemed like creepy clowns were popping up everywhere—and they were. By October 2016, clowns had been spotted in almost every state. So what started this onslaught of pennywise wannabes? The phenomenon seems to find its roots in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Adam Krause, a local filmmaker, is responsible for clown sightings in his area and in a way those across the nation. Olivia Steveson had the privilege to sit down with Krause and discuss this unusual and creepy trend.
