Nathan Makela is a junior at Colorado College. He has previously worked as a News Intern at the Colorado Springs Gazette and is currently News Editor at the Catalyst. As a Creative Writing major and Journalism minor, Nathan enjoys the intersection between reporting and storytelling.

Evan worked on his high school paper as Sports Editor and Co-Editor-in-Cheif before coming to CC. He enjoys skiing and biking when he's not busy writing or editing.

Mary Murphy is the current Active Editor and Layout Editor at the Catalyst. She is originally from Florida. A rising senior, Mary is an English major on the Creative Writing track with a minor in Journalism. She first got involved with the Catalyst when she began writing as a guest writer her sophomore year at Colorado college. She is also a published author. When Mary isn't writing, she enjoys being outdoors: hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. Mary is also an avid nature photographer and occasionally takes photos for the Catalyst.

Website Editor and Staff Writer for the News Section at the Catalyst. Shiying Cheng joined The Catalyst in March 2016. Cheng is also a contributor for Insights Section of Asia Times. As a student, Cheng is double majoring in Political Science and Computer Science, with minors in Journalism and History. She is passionate about data, coding, and story-telling, and wants to impact the surrounding communities through the power of journalism.
